PFAL Webinar Wednesday Series: Helping Your Student Build Self Advocacy Skills
This webinar will be hosted by Planning for Adult Life and presented by a member of The Arc of New Jersey's Self-Advocacy Project team. The goal of this webinar is to provide information about New Jersey's thriving Self-Advocacy movement, including monthly meetings and virtual events, as well as a discussion of the various ways self-advocacy skills can benefit students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Participants will learn actionable ways to promote self-advocacy skills in their family homes, classrooms, and community programs.
About the Presenter: Ashley Ritchey, MSW, LSW, is the Director of the New Jersey Self-Advocacy Project. Ms. Ritchey works closely with the leadership and members of the largest self-advocacy organization in the state, the New Jersey Statewide Self-Advocacy Network. Ashley serves as an Advisor for local and regional Self-Advocacy groups throughout New Jersey and manages the Project's daily virtual programming. She develops and presents interactive workshops on a variety of topics related to legislative advocacy, human rights, healthy decision-making skills, and voting.
